Aug. 7--Indiana is piling up lucrative life sciences jobs, a new study shows.
The state gained jobs in life sciences at more than twice the rate of the nation from 2001 to 2003, according to an article in INContext, a publication of Indiana University's Indiana Business Research Center.
Companies like drugmaker Eli Lilly and Co., Bloomington heart-stent maker Cook Group and Warsaw's prosthetics manufacturers are responsible for 2,427 of Indiana's new life sciences jobs, a rise of 4.5 percent compared with the 2 percent national increase.
