Country singer Jamie O'Neal trying to find a way to balance career and family.

Sep. 15--Jamie O'Neal begins with an apology. "I may sound a little like Janis Joplin because I'm all drugged up," says the country singer-songwriter as she begins an interview. O'Neal is kidding, of course, because few artists are more focused or more aware of what's really important in life than her. But a few hours before the interview, O'Neal had to get a cortisone shot to treat a bulging disk her neck, a nagging, painful injury. "It has been bothering me since June," O'Neal says.
