Counting the cost of road project: Expansion work leaves Santa Cruz homeowners with a hefty repair bill.

Oct. 24--Santa Cruz homeowners were resigned they'd have to deal with the nuisance of a road expansion right outside their entrance. But they never thought the project would actually cost them money. A lack of communication between Palm Beach County and a contractor is costing the homeowners thousands of dollars in repairs. The Santa Cruz Homeowners Association is paying at least $5,000 to fix its irrigation system, said Santa Cruz Homeowners Association president Frank Porta.
