Oct. 15--WASHINGTON--The United Nations voted overwhelmingly on Wednesday to condemn the U.S. embargo of Cuba for the seventh straight year, a sign of rising resentment against the United States and of recent diplomatic gains by the Fidel Castro regime.
The vote, though merely a symbolic gesture, once again raised the embarrassing question of who is most isolated in the world -- the United States or Cuba.
Castro this year has reached out to other nations, especially his neighbors in the Caribbean, to encourage trade, investment and tourism and to seek common cause against U.S. dominance. He found a receptive audience.
