The 'Physical Activity and Health: A Report of the Surgeon General' clearly indicated that moderate physical activity is beneficial to the health of people regardless of race and ethnic origins. Thus, recreation professionals should consult with racial and ethnic minority groups when designing parks and recreational facilities. The data from the report can be employed to help eradicate the health differences among racial and ethnic groups.
