Speaking today at a conference on teenage pregnancy, Tessa Jowell, Minister for Public Health emphasised the importance of youth media in tackling teenage pregnancy.

The Government published its report on Teenage Pregnancy in June 1999 which sets out a plan to reduce the number of teenage pregnancies in this country by half by 2010. The UK has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in western Europe and the report provides a co-ordinated plan of action to tackle this problem.
