To tree or not to tree, that is the question.

This has been the question every year since the kids moved out. Rather than doing away with the tree, we have resorted to a strategy often utilized by dorporate America: downsizing. If our tree gets any more downsized it will be dwarfed by a mug of eggnog.

Last year's tree, lights still strung, is in a small box in the basement. The tree is the plastic variety which, if you stand back and squint a little, looks almost exactly like a real one.
