Bayreuth Festival Names New Leaders

Two half sisters, daughters of the same father by different mothers, who have hardly ever met, are joined in an unexpected twist of fate: It's a familiar plot line at the Wagner opera festival at Bayreuth, Germany. On stage, it applies to Wotan's daughters Sieglinde, the mother of Siegfried, and Brunnhilde, his lover, in the "Ring" tetralogy. Offstage, it applies to the two daughters of Wolfgang Wagner, the composer's octogenarian grandson.
