Brett back in KC

COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. -- Hall of Famer George Brett had a seat on the Royals' team charter Monday night back to Kansas City after an exhibition loss to the Texas Rangers.

Brett, who has been on the road most of July and was eager to return home, said he would probably nap on the flight.

"It's been pretty stressful," Brett said of his weekend, which culminated with his induction Sunday into the Hall of Fame.

Nolan Ryan, Orlando Cepada and Robin Yount gave their acceptance speeches before Brett.

"I'm six pounds lighter from sweating," Brett said. "I felt like I did when I said, 'I do,' and got married. It's time to party."
